A professional 3D scanner is an investment, and one that should last. Here are a couple of tips to ensure that your scanner serves you well for many, many years.
Keep it Up to Date
We know of at least one customer that has been using its original ShapeGrabber scanner for 15 years! On average, you should expect a well-built laser scanner to last a decade, and should plan to upgrade the 3D scanheads every few years. By regularly updating your ShapeGrabber laser scanner software and purchasing new scanhead technology, your scanner will function at a high level for at least 10 years – and likely more. A maintenance plan is the best way to keep your scanner up to date – although we also offer stand-alone calibration service as well.
Ensure Compatibility
As turnkey solutions, ShapeGrabber 3D laser scanners include all required hardware and software, a CAD workstation, installation, training, and a full year of support. To help customers get the most from their existing scanners, we ensure that any new software and scanheads we release are compatible with existing hardware.
ShapeGrabber technology is now in its sixth generation of excellence and we have been researching, designing, manufacturing, and supplying industrial 3D laser scanners for more than 20 years. At ShapeGrabber, we pride ourselves on our ability to provide professionally-built laser scanners that can solve immediate measurement and inspection problems, and continue to do so for years to come.
